And India gets it's first Underwater Restaurant!

 

Lo Behold! Our love for all things tasty has taken us underwater. India finally welcomes it's first underwater restaurant in Ahmedabad, Gujrat, pretty aptly named ‘Real Poseidon’, after the 'Greek God of the Seas'.

The waves were ready to welcome diners from 1^st February' 2016 onwards and the 32 seater diner's delight has had 150 bookings already! As akin to most eating joints in the city, Real Poseidon doles out a vegetarian fare. The underwater restaurant offers some of the best offerings from the Chinese, Thai, Mexican & Indian world. To add to this amazing experience, the restaurant plans to bring in a live band/orchestra in the near future. While on the culinary front, you have an amazing array to choose from, including Hakka Noodles, Guacamole, Mexican vegetable rice & the all time favourite Phad Thai.

The sit down offers some breathtaking sights of the underwater world with 4000 species from the marine world being part of the set up, containing all of them in a mighty expanse of 3000 square feet and 1,50,000 litres of water.

The glass walls of Real Poseidon bring in the underwater aura and help maintain an element of space. So guests enter the premise and go down the steps into the underwater glass tunnel that forms the restaurant's dining. Light coloured flooring & white furniture work as a sharp contrast to the marine blues flanked on either sides and help maintain a pleasant ambience with a neat & clean look.

The idea for the restaurant, located 20 feet below sea level came to Bharat Bhatt (the name behind the restaurant) while discussing hotels & work with his son. Excited about the idea, he started work and  2 years of dedicated efforts bought his dream to reality and gave India it's very first underwater restaurant!

With Real Poseidon, India joins the super impressive league of countries that boast of underwater restaurants and bars. The club includes ‘Ithaa’ in Maldives, ‘Al Mahara’ at the famed Burj Al Arab, Dubai, ‘Atrium Bar’ in Berlin, ‘Aquarium Restaurant’ in Nashville, USA, ‘Sea’ at the Anantara Kihavah Villas in Maldives, ‘Cargo Hold’ restaurant in Durban, and of course, ‘Subsix’ – the world's first underwater club.

So you've been up in the air & dined, you've been deep in cave restaurants and enjoyed your meals there. You've sat next to the water and pleased your palate, you've dined in the middle of the jungle and raised a toast! It's time to now get under the water in India now.
